What Constitutes "Within Reason"?

CPU Usage

• Clients are welcome to utilize the CPU resources required for normal server operations, including game hosting and management.
• Resource-intensive operations must be optimized to avoid prolonged excessive CPU usage.
• Abusive behavior, such as intentionally overloading the CPU to degrade system performance, is prohibited.

Memory Usage

• Clients should ensure their applications and processes use memory efficiently, avoiding memory leaks or excessive consumption.
• Temporary spikes in memory usage are acceptable, but sustained overuse will be flagged for review.

Storage Usage

• Clients are encouraged to store only data relevant to their game server operations or related services.
• Excessive storage usage, including the accumulation of unnecessary files or backups, must be addressed promptly.
• Storing illegal or prohibited content is strictly forbidden.

Examples of Prohibited Usage

• Running activities unrelated to gaming or server management (e.g., cryptocurrency mining).
• Hosting unauthorized or malicious content.
• Continuously running resource-intensive processes that degrade performance for others.
• Attempting to circumvent system safeguards or engage in exploitative behavior.

Monitoring and Enforcement

MWGSM will actively monitor resource usage to ensure fair use across all clients. In cases of excessive or abusive usage:

• Notification: Clients will receive a notice to address the issue.
• Action: If the behavior continues, MWGSM reserves the right to suspend, throttle, or terminate the affected service to protect overall system stability.

Best Practices for Clients

• Regularly monitor and optimize your server configurations to minimize resource waste.
• Use tools provided by MWGSM to track and manage resource usage.
• Notify MWGSM if you anticipate activities that may temporarily increase resource demands, so we can assist in minimizing the impact on other users.
